Outreach Specialist
Our Outreach Specialist, Nathan Kesti, puts on approximately eight miles a day walking the district and connecting with individuals who are unsheltered or facing chemical dependency challenges. Nathan is a great resource and has been instrumental in getting individuals into housing and/or treatment.
He’s also a great resource for our businesses. He connects with business owners/managers/employees to hear any concerns they have, offer tips, and serves as a liaison between the business community and social services.

Downtown Duluth’s Outreach Impact
Since he started in November of 2022, Nathan has accumulated some significant statistics:
- 23,288 self-initiated contacts with unhoused individuals
- 4,690 self-initiated business contacts
- 45 people into stable housing
- 47 people into treatment
This position is dedicated to our downtown area, while our partners in other organizations assist individuals throughout the community. It is unique in that it provides a balance between the needs of the business community and the needs of those who are unsheltered.
