Sidewalk Days Festival: July 11-13, 2018

sidewalk daysDowntown Duluth’s Annual Sidewalk Days Festival is scheduled for July 11, 12 and 13. Thousands of people are expected to converge on Superior Street for this popular tradition. While the boundaries are slightly condensed this year due to Superior Street reconstruction, that just means more activity within a few blocks!

Hit the street and get in on great shopping, mouth-watering food and fun for the kids during this annual event in the heart of the city. More than 80 different vendors will join our Downtown merchants to take to the street. In addition, the Duluth Children’s Museum will be on hand Wednesday and the Zoo-mobile on Thursday for the kids and the kids at heart.

Superior Street will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 8:00AM each day between Lake Avenue and 3rd Avenue West. Businesses within the construction zone will be out on the street near the Holiday Center, and the ever- popular maurices will be near its former location in the 100 block of West Superior Street.

New this year: Duluth’s Largest Coffee Break “Summer Edition!” in Lake Place Park from 9:00-10:00AM on July 12th. Free coffee and donuts provided with all proceeds again going to the Lakewalk Restoration. A similar event was held during “Coldfront” with much success.

Sidewalk Shuffle

Be a part of the 11th Annual Sidewalk Shuffle!

The Duluth Area Family would like to invite your business to participate in the 11th Annual Sidewalk Shuffle 5K. This year’s event takes place on Wednesday, July 11th at 12:10pm, starting at the Endion Station and running the scenic lakeshore of Lake Superior.

This year, the Y is trying something a little different with our registration process: you can choose the impact your race will have in your community! The proceeds of this event go solely to the Duluth Y Community Support Campaign, allowing the Y to make sure their doors are open for all. Each level entry goes to support another one of our causes, including camp, swimming lessons, and miracle league.

Teams consist of 5 members, and businesses can enter as many teams as they would like. There is also an option to run as an individual. Both individual and team registrations have the different levels of racer registration. See attached racer registration information to view the levels.

If you are interested, you can register online or fill out this registration form. The team captain must first create the team and the registration level, and teammates join by selecting “Shufflemates Join a Team.”
